On Friday, March 31, a meeting of the Vice-Rectors for Internationalization of the SEA-EU Universities took place at the Faro Gambelas Campus of the University of Algarve.
The Rector of the University of Algarve, Paulo Águas, welcomed the SEA-EU Vice Rectors to hold a session in which to share experiences and debate on the next steps in the internationalisation of the Alliance.
The agenda included different strategic points for the development of collaborations and strategies between the nine partner universities as well as between the Alliance and other international agents. For several hours they discussed and presented their opinions and experiences on how to design an extra-territorial strategy for SEA-EU based on the European strategy of international cooperation that encourages the involvement of non-European countries. Options have been discussed by analyzing the previous collaborations of each university with different regions worldwide and a list of countries with effective cooperation with partner universities has been made.
In a second point of the day, the attendees started to design the future SEA-EU Congress, which is planned for the end of the year with the presence of external stakeholders and associate members.
