YESclima: Reinforcing the European Youth Employment Policy with the European Green Deal 15 June 2020
YESclima – Young experts for climate-friendly schools in Mediterranean countries, is a prioject coordinated by the University of Cadiz, and supported by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Sfety.
The objective of the YESclima project is to train young energy experts to carry out energy audits in primary schools and to provide advice to the municipalities involved in the project. With their practice and additional training, the project goal is to increase their chances of working while at the same time contributing to reducing emissions from heating and cooling in public buildings.
Together with the “World Future Council”, the EUKI-project YESclima has published a proposal addressed to the European Commission. As consequence of the Corona-crisis it is feared that unemployment will rise massively in all affected regions of Europe. In particular the exclusion of the European youth from economic activities will increase.
