LaTeX is a powerful tool for typesetting scientific documents, which is used for producing scientific documents of high typographic quality. It is an accepted format for submission to scientific journals, as well as many professional publishers. Its popularity stems from a history of flexibility, power and just ‘doing the right thing’. LaTeX automatically numbers your equations and figures and lays content out according to strict style rules so as to obtain a readable and polished finish.
In this course we introduce many of the LaTeX commands and concepts required to produce a reasonable scientific document of any length. It is very useful to start preparing any academic scientific document, such as papers, slides, exams, posters…

On Day 1 we will overview all the necessary contents to learn how to use LaTeX properly on the online platform Overleaf.

On Day 2 we will apply the acquired knowledge to apply them to type up documents such as presentations, articles, posters, exams, etc.

Places for SEA-EU international participants are limited and will be attributed on a first-come-first-served-basis.
Each person who is granted a place will receive an e-mail by the SEA-EU@uca.es Team with further instructions by May 13th. Without this confirmation e-mail you are not allowed to participate in the course.
All further registrations will be put on a waiting list. As soon as a place becomes available in the course, you will receive a message from us. If you do not receive any messages until May 16th after the application deadline has passed, you have not been given a place on this course.
If the minimum number of participants of 6 cannot be reached, the event will have to be cancelled for financial reasons.
Conditions of enrolment:
- The course offers are meant for SEA-EU Alliance Universities’ staff members: Registration is only considered if made with a valid institutional email address.
- By applying to this course you agree that your data (name, title, affiliation & email) will be passed on to the course instructor and the corresponding universities’ entity if your application is confirmed.
- A certificate of participation will be issued, upon attendance more than 80% of the course.
- Registration is binding.
