English C1

We are a geography education research group at CAU, primarily involved in educating future secondary school geography teachers. Our work combines teacher education with geographical research and education for sustainable development.

Our research addresses three main areas: education for sustainable development, teacher professionalisation, and instructional quality in geography education. If these topics resonate with your academic interests, we would be delighted to host you as a secondment researcher.

Skills to be acquired or developed:

Depending on the research focus, the secondee will develop a variety of skills. Across all projects, we apply methods of empirical social research, particularly qualitative approaches. The secondment provides insights into the German education system and culturally embedded teaching practices, as well as opportunities to develop intercultural and language competencies.

About you:

Excellent English skills; German also useful in case you want to investigate students or teachers; the ability to work independently; a strong sense of teamwork; a keen interest in geography and education; support the link between geography education to SEA EU
