On 17 February 2026, the University of Malta campus hosted the Carnival Lunchtime Initiative, transforming the quadrangle into a vibrant and festive space for staff and students. Organised by the Conferences and Events Unit in collaboration with the Research, Innovation and Development Trust and Festivals Malta, the event aimed to bring the university community together through a shared cultural experience.
During the event, attendees enjoyed a lively atmosphere filled with colourful Carnival floaters, traditional prinjolata, and a variety of refreshments. A live band, dressed in full Carnival spirit, provided entertainment and enhanced the celebratory mood. The initiative offered a welcome break from daily routines while fostering a sense of connection and community across campus.
