The Centre de Recherche Bretonne et Celtique (CRBC) is hosting an exhibition, “Mon cher Shaw” (“My Dear Shaw”), to commemorate the 100th anniversary of George Bernard Shaw’s Nobel Prize in Literature (awarded in 1925).
The CRBC is delving into the archives of Shaw’s dedicated French translators, Augustin and Henriette Hamon, to offer a unique retrospective. The exhibition features nearly 60 years of correspondence between the Hamons and the brilliant Irish playwright. Visitors are invited to explore the major themes that permeate their exchanges, including literature, society, politics, and economics, offering an intimate look at a pivotal era in intellectual history.
