From 26 January to 2 February 2026, Parthenope University of Naples is set to host the largest Global Game Jam ever held in Naples. The international event will run in a hybrid format, both on site and online, bringing together students, developers, designers and creatives for an intensive week of collaboration focused on video game creation, based on a theme announced simultaneously worldwide.
More than 200 participants have already registered, confirming the event as a major milestone for the local area and for Italy’s creative and technology sectors. In terms of participation numbers, Global Game Jam Naples 2026 currently ranks as the fourth largest edition worldwide, following China, Hong Kong and Argentina.
The event is organised by Player Zero Association, the The Scostumati community, and the student association Parthenope Unita.
It will also involve students from the Naples Academy of Fine Arts, independent game developers from the Campania region, and participants from other Italian regions, who will be able to join remotely.
The opening day on 26 January will be moderated by Professor Paola Barra and Salvatore Fiore, officially launching the week-long Game Jam activities.
Global Game Jam Naples 2026 aims to promote interdisciplinary creativity, strengthen collaboration between academia and the creative industries, and highlight the university’s role as a hub for innovation, experimentation and third-mission engagement.
