The exhibition Oceánicas: Pioneers of Oceanography was held from 11 March to 1 April 2025 at the Main Library. Organised by the Embassy of Spain, it showcased the groundbreaking contributions of 20 women in ocean science, highlighting their achievements from the 18th century to the present.
The exhibition featured 15 panels in chronological order, tracing pioneers such as Jeanne Baret and contemporary oceanographers, with narratives, illustrations, and a digital book. It celebrated historical figures like Marie Tharp and Ángeles Alvariño and inspired future generations of scientists.
