Parthenope Women’s Week

The Parthenope Women’s Week opened with a strong and engaging start on 18 November. After the introductory session and welcome remarks by Rector Antonio GarofaloCUG President Marilù Ferrara, and Professor Maria Luisa Iavarone, the spotlight turned to Mariagrazia Contini, the renowned director and pedagogue from the University of Bologna (Alma Mater Studiorum).

Speaking to a large audience of students, Contini delivered a passionate and thought-provoking account of her documentary film, structured around four episodes in which men trace the roots of their own histories of violence. Through these personal stories, the documentary sheds light on the social and cultural mechanisms that legitimise violence, encouraging deeper awareness of the issue and prompting reflection on the need for change in relational models between women and men.
