The Pianeta Mare Film Festival officially opened as a major film competition celebrating the most innovative and experimental films, documentaries and short features addressing climate change, the sea and oceans, the environment, biodiversity and ecosystems. Among the highlights of the opening programme was the preview screening of the documentary Ocean with David Attenborough.
Taking part in the opening event were Giorgio Budillon and Maria Luisa Iavarone, members of the Festival’s educational and training committee, alongside Maurizio Gemma, Regional Director of the Film Commission, and Max Mizzau Perczel, Director of the Pianeta Mare Film Festival.
The festival events are scheduled to take place from 7 to 11 October 2025 and will be hosted across several prestigious venues, including the University of Naples Parthenope, the University of Naples Federico II, Suor Orsola Benincasa University, and the Anton Dohrn Zoological Station.
