The University of Split and the University Library are pleased to invite you to the ceremonial presentation of the bibliophile edition “A Leaf is a Man Walking Through Air: Homage to Luka Paljetak”, published by the Biškupić Collection.
The event will take place on Wednesday, July 9 at 8:30 PM, at the Mediterranean Institute for Life Sciences (MedILS), Šetalište Ivana Meštrovića 45, Split. Participants include Dr. Joško Belamarić, Mr. Božo Biškupić, Ana Utrobičić (Director of the University Library), and Helena Trze Jakelić (Head of the University Gallery).
The evening will feature a poetry and music program performed by actors Pero Eranović and Davor Pavić, with music by Darko Matičević. The portfolio, dedicated to academician Luka Paljetak – a distinguished Croatian poet, writer, and translator – brings together 17 poems and 34 graphic works by artists and poets from Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, and Japan.
It showcases a rich variety of graphic styles and poetic tributes.
The collection was first presented in Zagreb in October 2024 and donated to the University Library in April 2025.
All works will be exhibited on the evening of July 9 and afterward preserved in the University Library’s Special Collections Department, available for viewing by appointment.
