The annual event hosted by the European Association for International Education (EAIE) in Rotterdam, which commenced on September 26, has been a hub of academic collaboration and networking. Among the prominent participants, the SEA-EU Alliance has played an active role in various capacities.
One of the standout features was the SEA-EU Alliance’s eye-catching booth, which attracted a plethora of visitors and garnered overwhelmingly positive feedback. The booth showcased the revamped SEA-EU brand, drawing the attention of hundreds of attendees.
The SEA-EU Alliance provided a platform for colleagues and friends from its member universities to come together, exchange greetings, and engage in meaningful conversations. Representatives from all partner universities converged at the stand, creating a vibrant atmosphere of camaraderie. Furthermore, several member universities hosted receptions at their respective booths, offering local delicacies to their peers and fellow attendees.
The SEA-EU Alliance was well-represented in various sessions, thanks to the participation of two prominent members. Alexandra Teodosio, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Algarve, discussed how SEA-EU extends cooperation beyond Europe and provided insights into the inaugural SEA-EU Congress slated for January in Algarve. Anna Jurkowska, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Gdansk, highlighted how alliances have added value in assisting the Ukrainian community and elaborated on the Ukrainian Day event held during the last governing week in Gdansk. Additionally, Laura Howard, former president of the EAIE and current General Director of SEA-EU at the University of Cádiz, acted as a superb ambassador with her extensive network, amidst a gathering of over 6000 participants.
The event facilitated numerous meetings with members of the international educational community and featured a rich array of sessions and presentations spanning various aspects of higher education.
As this eventful week draws to a close, filled with reunions and networking opportunities, it has significantly enhanced the visibility of the European University of the Seas (SEA-EU). Tomorrow marks the culmination of this dynamic gathering, leaving an indelible mark on the landscape of international education.
