As part of the Observatory for Migrations and Human Rights (Task 5.1 of the ERASMUS+ SEA-EU Project), the University of Algarve (UAlg) met yesterday, December 2, 2024, with the Training Center of School Associations of Ria Formosa and the Training Center from the Coast to the Hills to outline a potential collaboration protocol between institutions.
Present at the meeting were the SEA-EU Pro-Rector, Patrícia Pinto, the Directors of the Training Centers of School Associations (CFAE) in the Algarve, namely Maria Eugénia de Jesus (Teacher Training Center of Ria Formosa) and Duarte Duarte (Teacher Training Center of Litoral à Serra), UAlg’s representative for Task 5.1, Cátia Martins, Education Psychology Master’s student and CIP-UAlg scholarship holder, Catarina Moreira, and Patrícia Palma, a teacher on statutory mobility AFC. This meeting marked the first steps toward signing a cooperation protocol between UAlg and the CFAE in question, focusing on promoting research into the characteristics of the migrant school population and their families in the Algarve, identifying and analysing quality tools and practices, as well as developing reference resources to foster better inclusion, equal opportunities, and appreciation of diversity among cultures and ethnicities.
