Within the framework of cooperation, it is possible to perform a study of the toxicity of drugs or other anthropogenic substances towards different species of cyanobacteria. The tests will be performed according to the OECD 201 guidelines. HPLC-DAD or HPLC-MS determinations will also be performed. For single-cell species, flow cytometry can be used.

Our group is focused in wide range of analytics of environment, but also support the industry, biology and biotechnology. Our main skills in analytical chemistry – separations by chromatography, extractions, mass spectrometry, statistical description of results. We have ecotoxicology labs (Daphnia magna, Lemna minor, bacteria and cyanobacteria, human cells), soil lab (for sorption and mobility studies), natural products analysis labs (analysis of plants valuable compounds, toxic substances in plants, lipids in invertebrates). We are highly interest in analysis of polar contaminants and metabolites, tracking fates and sources, and finally – risk estimation to environment. We are willing to host two doctoral or postdoctoral researchers.

The secondment has to take place between September 7 and December 31, 2025.

Skills to be acquired or developed:

During the secondment, the secondee will have the
opportunity to acquire and/or develop the following skills:

- development of chromatographic separation (HPLC or GC) of target toxicant
- analysis of EC50 of toxicant toward cyanobacteria according to OECD 201
- determination of bio-accumulation
