Internship in Integrating international profiles into the economic ecosystem of the SEA-EU alliance territories

University of Brest
3 to 6 months
35 hours a week
B2 english - B1 french

The Université de Bretagne Occidentale (UBO) is a member of the SEA-EU European University Alliance (alongside 8 other universities in Europe). One of the major challenges of this partnership is to increase academic and professional mobility (internships) between its members. The consortium also includes 77 associated partners in the regions where the universities are located. Among these partners, the local authorities, which are stakeholders in the alliance, are beginning to exchange ideas with each other, but are still unfamiliar with the strategic areas of activity of their European counterparts. At the same time, Brest métropole, an associate partner of the alliance, has conducted a study into the internationalization of its region.

The study highlighted two main difficulties:

  • For companies recruiting international profiles
  • For international students and researchers to become part of the local economic ecosystem (particularly within the strategic sectors defined in the SMDE CAP 2030 Metropolitan Economic Development Strategy)

The objectives of this internship are to:

  • Characterize the strategic sectors for economic development in the Alliance’s territories (3 cities will be prioritized)
  • Take stock of the legislative and regulatory provisions relating to the recruitment of international profiles in France and offer tools for users (companies and international students/researchers) and test the replicability of these tools in other Alliance territories
  • Identify the difficulties faced by local public and private organizations in recruiting in Brest
Tasks and duties entrusted to the student:
  • Data collection and analysis
  • Contribution to written reports, notes and seminars
  • Investigative work
  • Organization of workshops
Skills to be acquired or developed:

Communication, data collection and analysis, writing, teamwork, organizational skills, autonomy.
