At Nord University’s campus in Mo i Rana, The Centre for Industrial Business Development welcomes doctoral or postdoctoral researchers for secondments in Economics and Business.
The researchers at the Centre for Business Development (SIF) work with local businesses, in the seafood and heavy industries. Our group has expertise within innovation and innovation cooperation at both firm and system level, Entrepreneurship including gender related questions and in Circular Economy. We offer to host guest researchers with a broad range of business-related research topics to cooperate with our research group during the stay. Guest researchers will be fully integrated into the research group with a dedicated host at Associate or full professor level. We can support researchers to plan fieldwork in the area and to gain access to firms and other regional actors such the local cluster and industry park or by publication collaborations. SIF is a part of a junior network focusing on peer support and development of academic skills where we have workshops on e.g. abstract writing, academic communication and methodology and workshops for research presentations and discussions.
The main focus is on research and innovation projects that are relevant for Norwegian industry in general and Nordland county in particular. The centre is located in Mo i Rana and is part of Nord University Business School.
Our vision is to be leading in research and education in topics related to industry, business development and innovation. We work closely with innovative tech-companies in Norway, as well as national and international research communities. We work closely with local actors, ECO-industry Park MIP, ACT cluster, regioanl actors and businesses, focusing on innovaiton development in digitialisation and circular economy development and energy solutions. SIF is currently participating in multiple national and international research projects and collaborating with a wide range of partners from Industry and research organisations.
The group includes 21 researchers, 2 industry experts and 5 PhD students.

The secondee should have skills in research and background in business research or entrepreneurship.
SIF will provide mentorship and training for the secondee through three main activities:
We also offer support for possible field work and accessing local actors and relevant activites in industry or research context during the stay. We are open for cooperation such as co-publications or project applications based on common interests.
We will provide working space and help to secure accomodation for guest researchers as well as access to Nord networks and systems.
