Within the scope of the SEA-EU project, the University of Brest (UBO) leads an action aimed at promoting inclusion, gender equality, and diversity across the alliance.

Objective of the Internship: The internship aims to assess the level of gender awareness among students in the different partner universities. The intern will contribute to the development of a shared indicator to evaluate and compare perceptions and practices related to gender equality across the SEA-EU campuses.

Hosting Lab : HCTI Lab at UBO / HUM536 El problema de la alteridad en el mundo actual

The HCTI laboratory, Heritage and Creation in Text and Image (UR 4249), was created in 2008. It consists of a team of fifty full members in Brest and Lorient, around thirty doctoral students and twenty associates, researchers in the fields of Arts, literature and languages, who explore the modalities of cultural heritage and creation based on various textual, digital, iconographic and filmic corpora, from Antiquity to the 21st century. As the team’s name suggests, the laboratory offers various types of expertise in the fields of analysis and processing of text and images, such as caricature.
Tasks and duties entrusted to the student:
  • Apprehend the context and objectives of the survey and tailor it to the local context.
  • Conduct qualitative interviews with students at their home university (in their own language).
  • Transcribe and translate the interviews from English to the local language.
  • Once the data are collected, translate them back from the local language to English.
  • Collaborate remotely with other European interns in an international and intercultural working environment.

  • Interviewing and qualitative research skills.
  • Analytical and critical thinking.
  • Translation and language skills (local language - English).
  • Data organisation and analysis of qualitative content.
  • Teamwork and remote collaboration using online communication tools.
  • Time management and project coordination across tasks and deadlines.
  • Intercultural communication through collaboration with international peers.
