Face-to-face meetings at the University of Algarve marked a significant step for the joint Master’s program in Port Management and Logistics (MIPMAL)

Face-to-face meetings marked significant progress for the joint Master’s program in Port Management and Logistics (MIPMAL) at University of Algarve. The meeting aimed to finalize the academic framework for the program. Representatives from participating universities, including the University of Algarve (UAlg), University of Cadiz (UCA), and University of Gdansk (UG), attended the meeting.

On April 16, a field visit to DOCAPESCA in Olhão provided valuable insights into port operations. Dr. Nuno Carradas welcomed the delegation and expressed keen interest in hosting students for internships, further strengthening industry-academia collaboration.

The visit included a stop at the Centro de Interpretação da Lota de Sagres, providing firsthand insights into the region’s maritime industry.

Continuing the momentum, on April 17th, a meeting was also held at the Instituto Superior de Engenharia (ISE) in Penha campus of the university of Algarve. Representatives from UAlg, UCA, and UG attended in person, while colleagues from the University of Malta joined virtually.
