Guidelines for Good Practice in Science Communication

Science Communication (SciComm) is dedicated to bridging the gap between complex scientific knowledge and diverse audiences by making information clear, engaging, and accessible.

Effective SciComm employs clarity, storytelling, and audience-specific messaging to foster understanding and interaction, encouraging scientific literacy and informed decision-making. It also recognizes the importance of multilingual communication and cultural context, as language influences how scientific ideas are perceived and shared.

Through various platforms, from traditional media to digital spaces, SciComm plays a crucial role in disseminating research, enhancing public understanding, and supporting educational and governance activities, as exemplified by the SEA-EU Alliance.

Moving forward, the focus will be on establishing quality standards for SciComm practices to ensure impactful communication.
