The SEA-EU Alliance has reached a significant milestone with the recent official accreditation of two international joint masters: STORM and MIPMAL. These achievements underscore the Alliance’s strong dedication to transforming European higher education through enhanced international collaboration and a focus on interdisciplinary excellence.
Scheduled to begin in September 2025, the Joint Master in Sustainability Transition for Organisations and Resilience Management (STORM), coordinated by the University of Brest (UBO), is designed to equip future managers with the interdisciplinary knowledge essential for addressing global sustainability challenges. STORM embodies the SEA-EU commitment to tackling environmental issues and emphasises the need for collaborative, cross-disciplinary educational approaches in organisations of all types.
The University of Cádiz (UCA) has also successfully secured accreditation for the Joint Master’s Degree in Port Management and Logistics (MIPMAL. MIPMAL addresses the increasing demand within the maritime industry for highly specialised personnel. By providing advanced training, fostering strong industry partnerships, and encouraging extensive student mobility among partner universities, this programme aims to boost Europe’s competitive advantage in the global maritime sector.
Achieving accreditation for these programmes is the culmination of years of committed collaboration within the SEA-EU Alliance. Specialists from each of the nine member universities have contributed their diverse expertise, insights, and dedication, into making these complex educational projects possible. The intensive collaboration included regular international meetings, collective curriculum development, and thorough European quality assurance evaluations. These master’s programmes represent some of SEA-EU’s most ambitious initiatives to date and establish a solid framework for future cooperative educational endeavors across Europe.
Looking ahead, SEA-EU is excited about the upcoming accreditation of two additional programmes, including a joint bachelor’s degree and a doctoral programme, further demonstrating its ongoing commitment to educational innovation and excellence.
