SEA-EU Groups Converge in Naples to Forge Joint Degree Communication Strategy

In a significant step towards enhancing its educational offerings, SEA-EU recently hosted a strategic meeting in Naples, focusing on the communication plans for its upcoming joint degree programs. Held at the University of Parthenope, this gathering brought together three groups: the SEA-EU expert communication group consisting of Heads of Communications and their teams from each university, the SEA-EU Communication Office, and representatives from the coordinators of the four joint degrees.

The meeting, which coincided with the annual sessions for tasks 6.1 and 6.2 dedicated to communication and dissemination within the Alliance, was moderated and led by Irene de Andrés, Communications Manager of the Alliance. The event saw a total of 21 attendees and spanned two full days, blending intense strategy sessions with leisure moments that allowed many attendees to explore Naples for the first time.

On the first day, participants delved into the communication work being done at each university, sharing best practices such as open days and influencer strategies. They also reviewed the efforts of the committees that have been developing the four joint degrees – two masters, a bachelor, and a doctorate. These programs are set to revolutionize the way higher education is understood and offered.

The second day focused on understanding the specific requirements of each title and coordinating university, acknowledging that aspects such as procedures and timelines vary. The collective effort culminated in the formulation of a comprehensive global communication plan, which will run parallel to local communication plans at each university, enhancing the promotion of these new degrees.

The meetings concluded with an exclusive session for the SEA-EU Communication Office members, who typically meet virtually every fortnight but were meeting in person for the first time. This session was crucial for establishing the timeline for implementation and discussing other office matters such as deliverables, documentation organization, and the upcoming SEA-EU Anniversary event.

The University of Naples Parthenope excelled as a host, providing a vibrant and authentic setting for these crucial discussions. These new degrees are a priority for the Alliance and its member universities, reflecting a commitment to advancing global educational standards and fostering international collaboration.
