The Faculty of Maritime Studies in Split hosted the SEA-EU Joint PhD Academic Committee Meeting on January 25th and 26th, 2024, addressing critical aspects of the SEA-EU Joint Doctoral Study Program. The meeting took place at the Planetarium on the 6th floor of the Faculty.
The agenda commenced on Thursday, January 25th, with welcoming words from the UNIST representative, followed by a focused discussion on inputs to the Self-report for the SEA-EU Joint Doctoral Study Program document. The morning session continued with the presentation of documentation required for the initial accreditation of study programs in Croatia.
The afternoon covered vital topics such as the common supervisor’s/mentor’s template, inclusion of stakeholders, and the development of a Supervisor’s/Mentor’s report template. The day concluded with discussions on a list of training opportunities for doctoral students and workshops for PhD students and supervisors, slated as a yearly event.
On Friday, January 26th, the meeting resumed with the consolidation of the list of templates required for progress monitoring. Subsequent discussions revolved around the inputs needed from the Joint Programs Working Group (JPWG). A short break preceded brainstorming sessions on possible funding sources, highlighting the commitment to ensuring sustainable support for the program.
