Course number: UBOXXFR006

Course name: French at A1.1 Level

Target Group: This course is open for SEA-EU students and staff.

Courses offered by: University of Bretagne Occidentale in Brest

Date/Time: 18.10.2021 – 24.11.2021 Mondays & Wednesdays (no class on the 01.11. and 03.11.) for 2x2h per week (time is yet to be announced)

Prerequisites: none

Course content

By the end of the course, participants will be able to or acquire skills to

  • introduce herself/himself (name, contact details, nationalities)
  • talk about the numbers 0-100 (including phone numbers)
  • understand a timetable (days of the week & time)
  • know about essential places in town and on campus
  • buy essential things (transport tickets, food, etc.)

Additional details

  • The lessons will be held in French and English (if necessary)
  • Lessons via Zoom or equivalent platform (Laptop/PC/Tablet with a stable Internet connection is necessary, also a word processor, a camera and a microphone)
  • total workload: 20 hours online teaching + homework 
  • the course is designed for 20 participants (ideally 4 per each SEA-EU University)

Course content

By the end of the course, participants will be able to or acquire skills to

  • introduce themselves (name, contact details, nationalities, academic studies)
  • talk about the numbers 0-1000 
  • understand a timetable (days of the week & time, types of classes at the university)
  • find their way around town and on campus
  • describe the landscape and environment
  • talk about sports and leisure activities 
  • talk about food

Additional details

  • The lessons will be held in French and English (if necessary)
  • Lessons via Zoom or equivalent platform (Laptop/PC/Tablet with a stable Internet connection is necessary, also a word processor, a camera and a microphone)
  • total workload: 20 hours online teaching + homework
