The Department of Science and Technology of Parthenope University of Naples together with SEA-EU helps local producers with the AMICA project (Multidisciplinary Approach Study on the IPA contamination of cultivated mussels). The AMICA project consists in studying the biological as well as economic impact of the hydrocarbons on mussels, according to physical, chemical and biological characteristics of the sea. The activity aligns with SEA-EU Alliance’s principles and practices. It is aimed at boosting quality and attractiveness of local products by analysing and demonstrating the threat of marine pollution. The project is coordinated by Prof. Yuri Cotroneo, also involved in the SEA-EU work team of Parthenope University.
