Action SEA-EU 2.0 Accepted as a Key Contributor to the “Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters” Charter

We are delighted to announce that the action SEA-EU 2.0, submitted under the “Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters” Charter, has been officially accepted as a significant contributor to the mission’s objectives. This recognition underscores the pivotal role played by SEA-EU in advancing the objectives of the “Mission Ocean and Waters.”

The “Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters” Charter aims to address critical challenges facing marine and freshwater ecosystems, emphasizing the importance of protecting and restoring biodiversity, eliminating pollution, and fostering a sustainable blue economy. SEA-EU has been acknowledged for its commitment to these goals, aligning with the following core objectives of the mission:

I. Protect and restore marine and freshwater ecosystems and biodiversity, in line with the EU Biodiversity Strategy 2030.

II. Prevent and eliminate pollution of our ocean, seas, and waters, in line with the EU Action Plan Towards Zero Pollution for Air, Water, and Soil.

III. Make the sustainable blue economy carbon-neutral and circular, in line with the proposed European Climate Law and the holistic vision enshrined in the Sustainable Blue Economy Strategy.
