From Kiel to Brest: Tanishka’s SEA-EU internship, an immersion in statistical genetics

The University of Brest (UBO), as a member of the SEA-EU European university alliance, is proud to highlight the mobility programmes that enrich our campus. This time, we met Tanishka, a Master’s student in Quantitative Economics at the University of Kiel (Germany), who chose Brest for her research internship.

Welcomed by UMR 108-GGB (Genetics, Genomics and Systems Biology), Tanishka immersed herself in statistical genetics research. She recounts her immersion: the use of innovative methods to assess disease risks, expertise that will be invaluable for the rest of her career.

But the SEA-EU experience is also about discovering life in Brest. Tanishka was able to enjoy the local culture, the proximity to the sea and, of course, the famous Breton crêpes!

Have a similar experience: Find your SEA-EU research internship!

Does Tanishka’s testimonial inspire you? If you are a Master’s student from a SEA-EU university and would like to do a research internship at one of our partners universities (such as Kiel, Cadiz, Brest, Split, Malta, Gdansk, Nord, Algarve or Naples), you can!

Take advantage of this opportunity to work in a European laboratory or research centre, acquire new skills and experience cultural immersion.

New: digital internships

In addition, the alliance is also developing digital internships, allowing you to collaborate remotely with European research teams.
