Parthenope University is joining the National initiative for Energy Saving and Sustainable Lifestyles. The awareness campaign is titled “M’illumino di Meno” (“I illuminate less”) and has been inagurated on the occasion of the National Day of Energy Saving and Sustainable Lifestyles, Febraury 16th.
This year’s edition features the collaboration of Rai Radio2 and the University Network for Sustainable Development (RUS). It is dedicated to the theme of fast fashion and will take place from February 16th to Friday February 21st.
The University is participating, as it did last year, in the energy awareness campaign by inviting students and staff to turn off non-essential lights for the entire duration of the initiative, and by turning off the lights at the University headquarters in Via Acton and Palazzo Pacanowski on Thursday 20 February 2025 from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m.
This year, other initiatives on the theme of reuse and/or recycling will be added to this:
• For the theme of reuse, students of the master’s degree course in Fashion, Art and Food Management will do video interviews on the topics of recycling and reuse at Palazzo Pacanowski on Thursday 20 February. Furthermore, students will wear an item of clothing with an emotional story to share on social media. Student ssociations will also support the activities.
• As for the theme of recycling, the university community is invited to place used clothing in the dedicated container. The container will be placed in the atrium of Palazzo Pacanowski from 20 to 21 February 2025.
The University invites all staff to participate in the proposed initiatives by making symbolic gestures that reflect the University’s constant commitment to sustainability and energy saving.
