On Monday, 16 February, at 13:00 CET, the Observatory of Migration and Human Rights will continue its monthly online seminar series with a stimulating presentation from the University of Kiel. The seminar, entitled “Addressing Intersectional Discrimination: Social Justice, the AGG, and Counseling Practices,” will be delivered by Manja Dimitra Kotsas, Hazal Budak-Kim, and Tina Spies.
The session will examine the complex dynamics of intersectional discrimination, focusing on how intersecting social categories, such as gender, race, and disability- shape individuals’ experiences across both social and professional spheres. The speakers will also consider the implications of the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG) and explore the role of counseling practices in advancing social justice and equality.
In line with its mission to foster evidence-based dialogue on human rights, migration, and social justice, the Observatory’s seminar series provides a platform for scholars and practitioners to disseminate research, exchange perspectives, and engage critically with pressing societal challenges.
The seminar will commence promptly at 13:00 CET, offering participants a unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge research on intersectional discrimination and its practical applications in social and counseling contexts.
