SEA-EU represented at the EUGLOH Annual Summit 2025 in Porto

The University of Algarve (UAlg), representing SEA-EU, took part in the EUGLOH Annual Summit 2025, hosted by the University of Porto from 22 to 24 October 2025.

The EUGLOH – European University Alliance for Global Health is one of the 64 European University Alliances funded by the European Commission, bringing together universities committed to tackling global challenges in health, sustainability, and education. Much like SEA-EU, EUGLOH fosters transnational cooperation, innovation, and intercultural exchange, contributing to the development of a more cohesive and resilient European Education Area.

This year’s Annual Summit gathered over 400 participants from 35 institutions and 18 countries, including representatives of several European University Alliances. The event featured a comprehensive programme of plenary sessions, governance and operational meetings, workshops, and networking opportunities, encouraging knowledge sharing, dialogue, and partnership building across institutions.

Representing SEA-EU, Joana Rodrigues and Milene Lança from the SEA-EU Office at UAlg, participated in sessions dedicated to knowledge transfer, employability, future skills, and the impact of artificial intelligence on higher education. Their participation contributed to strengthening collaboration and identifying synergies between SEA-EU and EUGLOH, particularly in areas of shared interest such as innovation, sustainability, and skills for the future.

Beyond the formal programme, the Summit also highlighted the importance of intercultural exchange and mutual understanding, providing participants with the opportunity to experience Porto’s rich cultural heritage and traditions.

The EUGLOH Annual Summit 2025 stood out as a celebration of collaboration, knowledge, and innovation, reinforcing the shared mission of European University Alliances like SEA-EU and EUGLOH to build a more inclusive, sustainable, and forward-looking European Higher Education Area.
