
Parthenope University of Naples has obtained an exceptional international recognition by receiving the prestigious “Healthy Campus Certified Label” certificate from the International University Sports Federation (FISU).
Launched by FISU in May 2020, the Healthy Campus programme is a certification process for universities promoting health and well-being in all its aspects. This aim perfectly aligns with the values and goals of the SEA-EU Alliance.
The university has been evaluated according to 100 criteria determined by FISU with a group of international experts in accordance with the sustainable development goals defined by the United Nations. Such criteria focus on gender equality, increasing inclusion, clean and affordable energy, sustainable community development, responsible consumption and production, climate action, partnerships and synergies between internal and external partners on campus.
By joining the “FISU Healthy Campus” project, the University was assessed by FISU according to the above-mentioned criteria, and finally obtained the recognition on the 11th of April, 2025. The analysis carried out by FISU also identified some procedures and activities of Parthenope University as international best practices, to be showcased to enhance virtuous processes and identify areas for improvement within the international network of Healthy Campus certified universities.
The label recognition process was coordinated by Prof. Pasqualina Buono, Vice-Rector for Sport and Active Lifestyles and Dr. Giovanna Apice, head of EU and International research projects office of Parthenope University, supported by Prof. Annamaria Mancini and Stefania Orrù, and by the SEA-EU Office.
In conclusion, the Healthy Campus Label contributes to a comprehensively healthy, diverse and attractive environment for the University’s staff and student community, and that’s exactly what SEA-EU is set to become.
