The University of Algarve (UAlg), as a proud member of the European University of the Seas (SEA-EU), invites all students to submit a short video (between 3 and 15 minutes) to the SEA-EU Film Festival 2025! This festival is all about celebrating creativity, spotlighting emerging talent, and giving students a chance to share their artistic work with an international audience.
ABOUT
The SEA-EU Film Festival transports european values and perspectives via short films from the countries of our Alliance. Use the chance to showcase your talent and present your film in Faro, Portugal, together with other artists as part of the SEA-EU Film Festival.
WHO CAN APPLY
- All students from SEA-EU universities;
Students from any other higher education institution worldwide.
THEME
Completely open! Express yourself freely – all topics, styles and ideas are welcome. Let your creativity take the lead!
WHY PARTICIPATE
The best videos will be selected by a panel of international experts from across SEA-EU universities and showcased in Faro (University of Algarve, Higher Institute of Engineering – ISE), during the Staff Week “Sea Heritages in the Algarve” on 29 October 2025.
IMPORTANT DATES
- Application deadline: 15 September 2025;
- Selection of the winners: 16 – 30 September 2025;
- Announcement of the winner: Latest 13 October 2025 on www.sea-eu.org;
- SEA-EU Film Festival: 29 October 2025, University of Algarve, Faro, Portugal.
GUIDELINES
- Films must be in English or include English subtitles (if there is dialogue);
- Each student may submit only one video;
- You must be the original creator of the video;
- Accepted formats: .mov, .mp4, or .avi;
- Videos generated by AI will not be accepted.
