Marine and coastal ecosystems in the Global South are increasingly exposed to invasive species, yet the socioeconomic dimensions of these invasions remain poorly understood. Building on the global InvaCost initiative, this project will synthesize available evidence on the costs, benefits, and management responses to invasive species in marine and coastal areas of the Global South. The goal is to identify knowledge gaps, regional contrasts, and potential biases in existing research, contributing to a forthcoming publication on invasion impacts and blue economy development.
