A rich exhibition and educational programme at the University Gallery as part of the Night of Museums

As part of the Night of Museums, held on 30 January 2025, the University Gallery in Split hosted a rich exhibition and educational programme.

The programme began at 7:00 PM with the opening of the exhibition “Croatian Icons”, organised in collaboration with Iris Illyrica. The exhibition presented illustrations inspired by two publications dedicated to prominent women in Croatian history, highlighting their contributions to science, culture, art, politics, and society.

At the same time, the exhibition “The Mysterious Life in a Drop of the Sea” by the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries opened on the first floor, showcasing electron microscope images of phytoplankton and emphasising its importance for marine ecosystems and climate.

The evening continued with educational and creative workshops, including a monotype printmaking workshop led by Daniela Cikatić Javorčić, as well as a workshop for children titled “Impressions of the Sea”, aimed at introducing younger audiences to marine life and artistic techniques.

The event brought together a large number of visitors, combining art, science, and education, and highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration.
