Parthenope Women’s Week – ‘Anna. The Art of Being Alongside’

As part of Parthenope Women’s Week, promoted by the University’s Single Guarantee Committee, Marinella Sorrentino visited the University of Naples Parthenope to present her book Anna. The Art of Being Next Door, with the author present. The event offered the academic community an opportunity to meet the writer and delve into a story that combines a strong female protagonist with a reflection on determination, independence, and the quiet strength of standing beside others.
The novel follows Anna, a young woman from a well-to-do Neapolitan family who, despite the expectations placed on her, resists a predetermined future and pursues her dream of becoming a doctor. Set in Naples in the early 20th century, the book also highlights the social constraints of the time and Anna’s effort to carve out her own path.
