Roses in Motion was well attended on 19 March Parthenope University – Villa Doria d’Angri. The event brought together sport leaders and oncology experts to promote women’s health through adapted physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
The project, promoted by Lina Buono, Vice-Rector for Sport and Active Lifestyles, focused on women with an active or past history of breast cancer. It aimed to share the benefits of physical activity in the prevention and management of the disease.
Experts and institutional voices
The initiative featured contributions from Dr Paola Del Giudice, Extraordinary Commissioner of CUS Naples, as well as Dr Pasquale Contaldi of the Concordia ETS Medical Association and Professor Attilio Parisi of IGEO. Their presence helped connect the worlds of sport, medicine and prevention.
The event underlined the importance of multidisciplinary dialogue. It also showed how physical activity can support recovery, wellbeing and quality of life. In this way, the meeting created a meaningful bridge between scientific expertise and practical support.
A closing moment of movement
The event concluded with a silent dance masterclass on the terraces, led by trainer Marianna Perruno. This final activity offered participants an engaging and accessible way to experience movement in a shared setting.
Overall, Roses in Motion highlighted the value of sport as a tool for prevention, inclusion and women’s health. It also reaffirmed the role of Parthenope University of Naples in promoting initiatives that combine research, wellbeing and community engagement.
