Dive Into Opportunities With SEA-EU At Freshers’ Week at UM 2025!

As the new academic year begins, the SEA-EU Office at the University of Malta proudly took part in this year’s Freshers’ Week, held between Monday, 29 September and Friday, 3 October 2025. The campus buzzed with energy as students discovered the many opportunities available through the European University of the Seas (SEA-EU) Alliance.

Throughout the week, the SEA-EU Office welcomed both new and returning students with a vibrant display of materials and information. Screens highlighted the wide range of opportunities offered across SEA-EU partner universities, while printed resources provided detailed insights into courses, mobility programmes, and initiatives available through the Alliance.

Over 5,250 new students joined the University of Malta for Freshers’ Week 2025, including 1,800 International students from 126 countries. This vibrant start also saw 2,400 undergraduates, 2,100 postgraduates, 360 Erasmus students, and 390 visiting students following micro-credentials.

Students visiting the SEA-EU Hut were greeted with giveaways. Many also engaged directly with the team, asking insightful questions about mobility opportunities, study programmes, and the unique benefits of being part of SEA-EU.

The SEA-EU Office was present throughout the week to answer queries, share information, and connect with students. The team emphasised how SEA-EU continues to open doors for international collaboration, learning, and cultural exchange across Europe’s coastal universities.

The SEA-EU Office thanks all students who stopped by during Freshers’ Week and looks forward to welcoming many of you to future initiatives, projects, and mobility experiences within the Alliance. Together, we continue building bridges across Europe’s seas.
