The EAIE Conference and Exhibition 2025 was held in Gothenburg from 10 to 12 September, bringing together more than 7,000 experts from across Europe and the world, all focused on the internationalisation of higher education and mobility. Over three days, participants engaged in numerous workshops, panels, and networking events, exchanging experiences and showcasing innovative approaches to international academic collaboration.
The University of Split stood out in the session “From barriers to bridges: Enhancing mobility opportunities in EUI alliances”, led by Ana Ćosić, Head of the International Relations Office at the University of Split. The session explored factors influencing mobility within European University Initiatives, with a detailed use of the Erasmus GAP self-assessment tool. The aim was to identify main barriers, highlight drivers of mobility, and showcase best practices. Through the World Café methodology, participants openly shared their experiences and challenges, while speakers emphasised the importance of inclusiveness and innovative models such as Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP) in modern academic exchange.
The importance of the SEA-EU alliance in promoting mobility was also highlighted, with the participation of Gordana Dujmović, Technical Manager of the SEA-EU 2.0 project and representative of the SEA-EU Office in Split. The joint efforts of the International Relations Office and the SEA-EU alliance are creating conditions for greater international mobility, with global recognition confirming their success: in 2025, the University of Split ranked first in the world in the WURI category Student Mobility and Openness, positioning itself as a leading institution in international mobility and openness, especially through innovative Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) models.
The University of Split’s delegation at EAIE 2025 included Rector Dragan Ljutić, Vice Rector for International Relations Zoran Đogaš, Head of the Rector’s Office Ivana Pletković, Head of the Department for Financial Affairs and Accounting Jelena Hrga, Expert associate for Academic Mobility Ana Marinović, and Vice Dean for Students and Quality at FESB, Damir Sedlar.
