The Observatory of Migration and Human Rights is a space for analysis, research, and public engagement, operating within the SEA-EU Alliance and involving researchers from diverse disciplines.
Its aim is to shed light on the experiences of migrants, defend their fundamental rights, and promote inclusive policies. Through studies, publications, and outreach activities, the Observatory works toward a fairer, more supportive, and diversity-respecting society. It connects universities, policymakers, and civil society to co-develop solutions for migration governance and the protection of human rights.
Having two major lines, the first one deals with migration, refugees, borders, and human rights. It focuses on the legal, political, and social dimensions of human mobility, with special attention to the protection of displaced persons and the governance of border spaces. This line critically examines migration policies and practices through a human rights lens. The second line addresses diversity and social justice, exploring how differences related to ethnicity, gender, religion, and other identity markers intersect with social inequalities. It aims to promote inclusive policies and foster equitable, respectful, and cohesive societies.
