Rooted in the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the global transition toward sustainability demands a deep understanding of our energy systems. This MOOC provides a comprehensive look into how energy is currently produced in Europe, contrasting conventional non-renewable sources like natural gas and coal with the rapid expansion of renewable technologies such as solar, wind, and green hydrogen. Participants will also explore the technical requirements for Nearly Zero Energy Buildings (NZEBs) and analyze how urban climate directly impacts building performance. Through an interactive session, this course delivers a practical approach to navigating the European energy landscape and mastering the basics of energy efficiency.
