Six universities have developed a unique international Sustainability Management Master’s Degree that educates future managers to be capable of building a sustainable future. It teaches knowledge and skills from the fields of natural sciences, humanities and management.
STORM is co-created by: University of Brest (France), the University of Malta, the University of Cádiz (Spain), the University of Split (Croatia), the University of Gdańsk (Poland), and Nord University (Norway).
In the face of major societal and environmental challenges, organisations play a key role in minimising human impact on the planet. The STORM Master’s programme trains future leaders to drive sustainable transformation through critical analysis and innovative management approaches.
By integrating hands-on experiences that reconnect them with nature, students gain a deeper awareness of global challenges and their impact on organisations.

Why STORM
Innovative Learning Methods
The courses will be taught by faculty members from all partner universities, each an expert in their field, offering students an transdisciplinary and intercultural programme of excellence.
Professional Experience
Students will apply their knowledge through an internship or a research project in one of the six partner countries. Throughout the programme, conferences and company visits will enhance professional immersion and networking opportunities.
English programme
STORM, the International Sustainability Management Programme is fully taught in English, it has been developped by 6 prestigious European universities of the SEA-EU Alliance.
Immersive International Exposure
Students will study in at least two SEA-EU universities during the Master’s Degree, starting with the University of Brest (France) starting in September 2026.
Reconnecting with nature
Students will be faced with experiences to help them reconnect with Nature, an essential step in raising awareness of the global challenges that affect all organisations.

Admission and general requirements
Please note: All applicants must meet the admission requirements prior to applying. We do not accept applications or documentation after the given deadlines.
To be eligible for the STORM Master’s programme, candidates must fulfill the following requirements:
A first degree at the bachelor level (EQF Level 6) , or equivalent from a recognised higher education institution. Applicants may submit their applications prior to the conferral of their qualifying diploma.
To access the Master, all students will be asked to provide a proof of sufficient knowledge of the English language. Please consult this PDF to view the full list of accepted certificates, minimum scores, and exemption criteria.
Applicants must be ready to take part in a minimum of two mobility periods in two countries as outlined by the mobility section of the student handbook.

Legalisation of documents
(*) Important considerations about your qualifications
For students from EHEA universities, legalisation is not required if their documents were issued in a country that is part of the European Union or a member of the European Economic Area. Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees will be automatically recognised in accordance with the Lisbon Recognition Convention.
Legalisation of documents issued outside Europe. All other students must observe the following conditions:
a) Documents issued in countries signatory to The Hague Convention of 5 October 1961 need only be stamped with the Apostille of The Hague by the relevant authorities in the country of issue.
b) Documents issued in all other countries must be duly legalised. Legalisation services are provided by:
- The Ministry of Education of the student’s home country, for degree certificates and academic transcripts, and the relevant Ministry of the home country for birth certificates and certificates of nationality.
- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country in which the documents were issued.
Official Translation of documents issued outside Europe. Diplomas and transcripts of academic records, and other official records, issued outside Europe should be officially translated into English by a Certified Translator. The translation should include all relevant seals, signatures, and stamps from the original documents. The translator should provide a certification statement attesting to the accuracy of the translation. This statement typically includes the translator’s credentials and contact information, a declaration that the translation is a true and accurate representation of the original document, and the translator’s signature and date.
Notice: Documentation that has not been duly legalised in accordance with the regulations in force in the country of issue will not be considered valid for the purposes of the application process. Furthermore, copies must be submitted in high-quality scanned format; photographs of documents will not be accepted

The Board of Studies for the STORM Master’s programme follows a two-step evaluation process:

Starting date

Participation fees
As STORM is an international Master’s degree programme, participation costs do apply. These include the enrolment at each of the universities where the student will be studying, ensuring that a joint diploma can be delivered by all participating universities.
- For citizens and permanent residents of the EU, North Macedonia, Serbia, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway, & Turkey: €3,750 / year
- For citizens and permanent residents not listed above: €7,500 / year
Student participation fees cover all costs associated with participation in the programme. This includes tuition fees, access to library and laboratory facilities, enrolment fees at the consortium institutions, administrative and organisational support provided by consortium partners, examination fees, and any other compulsory costs directly related to the student’s involvement in the programme.
Student participation fees do not cover accommodation, travel and travel documents (such as visas or passports) required within the framework of the mobility programme. They also do not cover any costs beyond the standard duration of the degree programme, such as re-examination fees. In the event of failure, delayed graduation, or the need for re-enrolment, any additional costs must be covered by the student using their own funds.
Funding opportunities
To promote the participation of students from diverse economic backgrounds, the Joint Programmes Coordination Office will award 12 merit-based fee waivers for the 2026/2027 Academic year. These will exempt the successful applicants from paying the participation fees for the specified academic period.
- Selection process:
The fee waivers are strictly merit-based. They will be awarded to the 12 highest-ranked candidates at the end of the recruitment process (Academic evaluation & selection interview). Your final score out of 100 points will determine your eligibility.
- Criteria:
The STORM Board of Studies will consider your academic success, professional background, and your motivation and commitment to sustainability during the interview (full criteria details in the “selection criteria” section)
- Application:
No additional application is required to apply for the waivers. Every applicant who submits a complete application before the deadline is automatically entered into the selection process for the 12 fee waivers.

Do these programmes include internships or work placements?
In the fourth semester, you can choose to do an internship and a Master’s project (15 ECTS + 15 ECTS each) or take the research pathway (30 ECTS). Internships provide you with a unique opportunity to gain practical experience and increase your knowledge in an identified area of expertise by engaging in a specific work/ research-based setting. This is particularly important in management education. You should decide at the end of the first year of the programme which pathway you would like to choose.
