Advent at the Campus: Hiljson Mandela, Rich Music, Fun, and Charity Events

Advent at the Campus, the most beloved Advent destination among young people, officially opened on Thursday, November 27 at 7 PM, marking the beginning of the festive season. The cheerful atmosphere captured in the photos shows how the Campus has grown into the city’s favorite Advent spot, attracting not only students but also residents of all ages. This year’s organization is truly the best so far.

The program began on November 27 with the lighting of the first Advent candle. Advent will run for 23 days, and on 21 of those days visitors will enjoy concerts by numerous well-known performers such as Jole, Hiljson Mandela, Mate Bulić, Tomislav Bralić & Klapa Intrade, as well as a special spiritual music concert featuring VIS Veritas aeterna and Albina. A special quiz event, Filmska potjera, hosted by quiz master Morana Zibar, will also take place. Admission to Advent is free for students and pupils, and most concerts will also be free for all citizens.

On November 29, the stage lit up with a concert by Hiljson Mandela, one of the most popular artists of the new Croatian urban scene. Known for his unique blend of trap, pop, and melodic hip-hop, Hiljson brought powerful energy and an impressive stage presence. His performance attracted a large audience, especially younger visitors who sang along to every hit.

This year’s Advent space has been thoughtfully designed so everyone can find their perfect place to enjoy. The party zone offers lively energy, dancing, and music, while the chill zone provides a cozy corner for warm drinks and relaxed conversations.

More than 20,000 lights, special installations, and new decorations transform the Campus into a warm, vibrant, and highly photogenic holiday setting. Seven Advent stalls offer delicious food and drinks at student-friendly prices – from classic winter favorites to creative seasonal treats.

Music remains at the heart of Advent at the Campus. Over the 23 days, visitors can enjoy performances by Mate Bulić, Tomislav Bralić & Klapa Intrade, Domenica, Andrea Šušnjara, Josip Ivančić, Matko & Brane, Guiano & Diktatori, and many others.

Jerko Šarić, acting president of the Student Council of the University of Split, announced that morning music programs will also take place in cooperation with students of the Arts Academy. He emphasized that Advent is designed with affordability in mind, as it is not only entertainment but also part of the student standard. He highlighted that the University of Split is the only university that offers its students free entertainment, educational, and sports programs every week.

Advent will once again have a humanitarian dimension: a charity concert will be organized, with the proceeds donated to the association Nevus.

The organizers note:
“Advent at the Campus grows every year, and this season we have prepared our richest program so far. We invite all citizens, students, and pupils to join us and experience Advent at the Campus in its most magical edition yet.”
