World Poetry Day celebrates the best elements of the human spirit: its impulses to forge relationships; its capacity for revelry and resistance; its ability to explore, without pinning down, our vastness of thought, emotion, and artistic efforts. Organised by the Library at the University of Malta, the event was hosted by Dr Aaron Aquilina (Department of English) and was enthusiastically attended by students and staff from a range of disciplines, as well as by members of the general public. At the end, the participants and audience were united in their call: more of this, please; let’s do this again; we can’t wait to experience, once more, the words of others becoming part of our way of seeing and being in the world.
