From 20 to 22 October 2026, Parthenope University hosted the SEA-EU International Staff Week “HR Strategies for a Changing Academic Environment”, bringing together human resources professionals and professional services staff from across the Alliance.
Through presentations, round-table discussions and workshops, participants exchanged practices on staff development, performance evaluation, motivation and collaboration between academic and professional services staff. They also explored recruitment, career progression, pay transparency and the skills needed to respond to changing university environments.
Connecting expertise and practice
Professor Filomena Buonocore explored the links between performance, cooperation and career development, placing people at the centre of organisational change. Complementing this perspective, Dr Alessia Ricciardi, Head of the Human Resources Department, discussed how performance evaluation and reward mechanisms can support staff growth and organisational improvement.
In addition, Dr Giovanna Apice, Head of the International and Community Research Projects Office and SEA-EU Local Manager, led the workshop “Change Readiness Lab: What to Keep, Improve, Start, and Stop in Our Institutions”. Participants identified practices to retain, processes to improve and new initiatives to develop, with the aim of turning shared experiences into proposals for future cooperation.
Strengthening connections across the Alliance
The event welcomed colleagues from the University of Brest, the University of Cadiz, the University of Gdańsk, Nord University, Kiel University and the University of Malta.
Building on the SEA-EU international training and collaboration programme launched in 2023, the Staff Week strengthened dialogue among partner administrations and supported a shared commitment to more collaborative, innovative and people-centred universities.
