The course explores how organisations put digital innovation and sustainability goals into practice. Through visits to organisations located above the Arctic circle, students examine the choices leaders face: whose interests matter, how trust enables cooperation, and how organisations account for their actions. The course connects governance in complex environments, digital transformation and sustainability management. Working on an organisational case, students map stakeholder relationships, compare possible responses and develop a practical improvement proposal. Asynchronous online modules, with recorded lectures, prepare students for the five-day programme in Bodø, Norway. Online opening and closing sessions bring students together before travel. Field visits, guided reflection and project mentoring help students to develop their group reports and prepare for presentations, which marks the course completion. In addition to versatile educational activities, the students need to be prepared to experience all wonderful out-of-class activities the Norwegian summer has to offer!
