SEA-EU’s participation in Glasgow brought new connections, exchanges with European University Alliances and a successful joint reception with EUNICoast
Following the opening of EAIE Glasgow 2026 on Tuesday, SEA-EU continued an intense week of meetings, exchanges and networking at one of the key international gatherings for the higher education community. Throughout the conference and exhibition, representatives from the SEA-EU partner universities welcomed visitors to the exhibition space shared with the EUNICoast European University Alliance, presenting the Alliance’s work and opportunities while connecting with universities and higher education professionals from across Europe and beyond.
The exhibition provided a valuable opportunity to meet colleagues from other European University Alliances. With a strong presence of alliances across EAIE 2026, conversations throughout the event allowed SEA-EU representatives to exchange experiences, discuss common challenges and explore new opportunities for cooperation.
Communication representatives from European University Alliances also came together during the event, providing another opportunity to strengthen a professional community that has grown alongside the European Universities Initiative and to exchange ideas and experiences with colleagues working on similar challenges across Europe.
A successful SEA-EU & EUNICoast reception
One of the highlights of SEA-EU’s participation came on Thursday afternoon, when SEA-EU and EUNICoast hosted a joint reception at their shared exhibition space. The reception was a great success, bringing together representatives from both alliances, partner universities, colleagues from other European University Alliances and members of the wider international higher education community. The informal gathering sparked numerous conversations and interesting exchanges, providing a space not only to reconnect with existing partners but also to establish new contacts and explore possibilities for future collaboration. It was also the perfect occasion to bring together colleagues from the SEA-EU universities attending EAIE Glasgow for a SEA-EU family photo, capturing the people behind the Alliance and the strong sense of community built through years of working together.
SEA-EU leaves Glasgow with strengthened connections, new conversations underway and plenty of ideas to bring back to its nine partner universities. Once again, EAIE provided SEA-EU with a valuable space to meet, exchange and connect, both within the Alliance and with the wider European and international higher education community.
