SeaBluE joint programme honoured in the ‘Co-Create to Educate’ competition

Sea-BluE has won an award in the “Co-Create to Educate” contest! The SEA-EU joint programme was recognized during the international conference “Joint and Double Programmes in Europe” at the Politechnika Łódzka. This is the first such distinction for the Bachelor’s degree that was accredited less than a year ago.

“We are pleased with this distinction, which confirms that our efforts to develop joint study programmes are noticed and appreciated. Sea-BluE is an example of a modern, flexible model of education, based on mobility, co-created learning paths and recognition of achievements — in line with the directions set by the European Education Area and the planned European Joint Degree,” — emphasized the Vice-Rector for Education at the University of Gdańsk, dr. Ewa Szymczak, prof. UG.
The programme — created and run by seven European coastal universities — trains future specialists for work in the sustainable blue economy and is an answer to the needs of the dynamically developing maritime sector.

During the conference, the “Co-Create to Educate: International Collaboration Award” was handed out for the most inspiring and innovative educational initiatives created through international cooperation. The University of Gdańsk was recognized for preparing and implementing the Sea-BluE joint programme — an international, innovative study path in the field of sustainable blue economy under the SEA-EU alliance.

SEA-EU’s joint programmes combine the teaching potential of several European coastal universities, and educate future experts in sustainable maritime economy, port and logistics management, and sustainable development management. The modern, international programmes respond to challenges such as climate change, marine pollution and protection of marine ecosystems.
