The Observatory sponsored the 15th Conference of the Migration Research Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences, held on 23–25 September 2026 in the cities of Gdańsk and Gdynia, Poland.
This year’s conference, entitled “Emigration, Immigration, Integration in the Era of Social and Political Polarization,” brought together researchers and experts from different countries and academic disciplines to address the main challenges and transformations currently shaping migration processes in a context marked by increasing social and political polarization.
The conference had a strong international and interdisciplinary character, providing a valuable forum for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and perspectives among specialists in the field of migration. The conference proceedings were conducted in Polish and English, with paper proposals accepted in both languages.
The Observatory was represented by Lorena Calvo-Mariscal, Miguel Ángel Acosta, Anna Mazurkiewicz, and Marian Bellido. They also actively contributed to the conference programme by presenting their research to the attendees and fostering the exchange of knowledge and perspectives with international researchers and specialists in the field of migration.
Through its sponsorship and participation, the Observatory reaffirms its commitment to research, analysis, and academic debate on migration, as well as to promoting international cooperation and scholarly exchange that contribute to a better understanding of migration processes and their social and political implications.
