SEA-EU joins the European University Association Annual Conference 2026

SEA-EU was represented by Fernando Pérez at the EUA Annual Conference 2026, held on 16 and 17 April in Istanbul and hosted by Yeditepe University. The annual conference of the European University Association is one of the main meeting points for universities across Europe. It brings together university leaders, experts, and policymakers to exchange ideas and discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping higher education today.

This year’s theme, University cooperation in changing contexts, focused on how universities are responding to a fast-changing world. Conversations looked at issues such as geopolitical uncertainty, technological change, sustainability, and economic pressures, while also exploring how institutions can continue to work together and create positive impact. The programme included discussions on leadership, academic innovation, strategic partnerships, and cooperation between universities and society. The event also hosted the annual General Assembly of the European University Association, where member universities help define shared priorities for the sector.

For SEA-EU, taking part in these conversations is especially valuable. As an alliance of nine coastal universities, SEA-EU is working every day on practical forms of European cooperation through joint programmes, mobility opportunities, research links, and closer institutional collaboration.

Being present at events such as the EUA Annual Conference 2026 allows SEA-EU to stay connected to the wider European higher education community, share its experience, and continue contributing to the future of universities in Europe.
