SEA-EU library professionals gathered at UAlg

The University of Algarve hosted, between 11 and 15 May 2026, an international staff week dedicated to professionals working in the fields of libraries, archives and documentation, organised within the framework of SEA-EU.

The initiative brought together 17 participants, 13 of whom came from the partner universities of Split (Croatia), Kiel (Germany), Malta, Nord (Norway), Gdańsk (Poland) and Cádiz (Spain), promoting the exchange of experiences, good practices and different working models applied to the context of European higher education.

Throughout the week, participants had the opportunity to explore several services and structures of the University of Algarve, including the libraries of the Gambelas and Penha campuses, the General Archive, and areas related to science communication and dissemination, repository management, open access, cataloguing, training and cultural outreach.

The programme also included technical visits, networking moments and cultural activities in the city of Faro, strengthening cooperation among professionals from SEA-EU universities and encouraging the exchange of knowledge and innovative approaches within information and documentation services.
