In the framework of Task 2.5, “SEA-EU becoming a lifelong learning hub”, UBO hosted the third physical meeting of the expert group on the 10th and 11th of June.
Over the course of two days, representatives from all universities in the SEA-EU Alliance met to discuss Vocational Education and Training (VET).
The aim of the workshop ? To understand how each institution implements its training design processes to meet the skill needs of its territory.
The University Department for Continuing Education and Work-Study Programmes (SUFCA) at UBO has developed a programme combining group discussions and practical activities. Participants were introduced to CESIM Santé. This centre uses modern and innovative technologies to create highly realistic scenarios. It trains students and professionals looking to refresh their knowledge or acquire new skills. The group was able to test this simulation-based teaching method by taking part in a helicopter rescue exercise (there was a crash, but no one was hurt!).
Several working sessions were organised to explore the process of designing a training course, from identifying needs to proposing a programme, including defining a framework. Building on this collaborative foundation, we also managed to rapidly co-create a micro-credential designed to be equally attractive to both full-time university students and working professionals, while effectively overcoming a major delivery barrier. And the session concluded with a tour of the city of Brest: stories about the city’s reconstruction period, a first ride on the cable car, a visit to the Plateau des Capucins…
Big thank you to everyone for taking part in this session!
